Service = FREE Disneyland tickets!

"Give a day, get a Disney day free!" Give a day of service and Disney will give you a free ticket to Disneyland or Disney World! Apparently that's what it takes to get me to serve... :) After talking to some friends, we found out that one of the qualified service projects around our area was Project Linus. Project Linus collects blankets and this time these are headed to the kids in Haiti. Bria was excited to help and since she is so young and couldn't officially volunteer, we decided this would be the best thing for our family. So, we signed up online and got the specs that we needed for our blankets and got started.
These are no-sew-fleece blankets and we cut 1" strips on each side of the fleece and then cut a slit in the middle of it (where it meets the body of the blanket) and then tucked it in to secure it. Bria LOVED tucking them in and followed me around the blanket. We made four blankets total.

We really enjoyed this project and it only took a few hours. Most of all, I was able to teach my 4-year-old about serving. She really got to help and be part of something that will bring comfort to someone else. I loved it. If you have ever served someone else, you know that you get much more in return than what you give. In this case, we literally got more than what we gave.
